  • Install XAMPP
  • Explode Joomla archive
  • Configure MySQL database

Install XAMPP

In windows, setup using the Installer and

Explode the Joomla zip archive to c:\xampp\htdocs\joomla

Launch PhpMyAdmin

-> Privileges -> Add new user

Enter username, password, reconfirm password

Also tick "Create database with same name and grant all privileges"

Click "Go" to proceed and create user and db

 

load http://server/joomla/installation/
