When connecting to a Windows Server 2008 R2 using Remote Desktop, the session may not be automatically mapping the client local drives e.g. C: to \tsclient\C

To overcome this

1.  On the Server, run gpedit.msc

2.  For standalone server, Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Device and Resource Redirection

Set this policy to Disabled
