This can happen for example, when you update chrome to a new version. The chromedriver.exe binary used as the selenium webdriver for chrome must also be updated. eg. if your chromedriver.exe was for v88 and you recently updated Chrome web browser to v90, you may experience a crash if you have Selenium IDE extension enabled in chrome. Fix by updating chromedriver to the same version as your chrome.
